Autres usages

  • The plant is insect repellent [240].

Culture

  • We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors at least in the milder parts of this country .
  • Succeeds in most soils but prefers a well-drained soil in a sunny position [1, 200].
  • Plants in this genus generally live longer when growing in a poor soil [200].

  • Basal cuttings of new shoots in spring .
  • Very easy, collect the shoots when they are about 10cm tall, potting them up individually in pots and keeping them in a warm but lightly shaded position .

Comprehensive listing of species and how to grow them. Somewhat outdated, it has been replaces in 1992 by a new dictionary (see [200]).

Very readable magazine with lots of information on propagation.

Excellent and very comprehensive, though it contains a number of silly mistakes. Readable yet also very detailed.

Very terse details of medicinal uses of plants with a wide range of references and details of research into the plants chemistry. Not for the casual reader.
